AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide analog of the C-terminus of human growth hormone (amino acids 176–191) with a modified tyrosine at position 177. It retains the lipolytic properties of full-length hGH without the mitogenic or diabetogenic effects, making it a valuable research compound for fat metabolism studies.
AOD-9604 stimulates lipolysis by activating beta-3 adrenergic receptors in adipose tissue and inhibits lipogenesis. It does not bind to growth hormone receptors at physiological concentrations, avoiding the insulin-resistance effects of full-length GH. The compound may also activate PPAR-gamma pathways and influence bone and cartilage metabolism at higher concentrations.
Research applications include selective lipolysis studies, adipogenesis inhibition models, fat-specific metabolism research, comparison against full-length hGH in metabolic models, cartilage repair potential in osteoarthritis models, and body composition modification research.
